A world leading designer and manufacturer of products for the upstream oil and gas industry, AnTech, which has its headquarters in Exeter and a presence in Texas and Saudi Arabia, is one of just 205 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and is in fact the only company in Exeter to receive one.
Employing 49 staff, AnTech was founded in 1992 and is based at Exeter Airport’s Business Park and won the award in recognition for its excellence in International Trade. This award is only given to businesses able to demonstrate their organisation has achieved outstanding growth overseas, which AnTech achieved through its expanding global operations.
AnTech design, manufacture and test all of their products in-house, spanning all areas of mechanical, electrical and software design engineering. Rated to the highest industry standards, AnTech have seen their products and services used worldwide by the top three industry service providers and blue-chip Operators within the industry.
“Being chosen for a Queen’s Award for International Trade is an honour. As a small company operating in Devon, we are extremely proud to have been selected and to have secured such prestigious recognition. This reflects our collective achievement as a team and our growing global presence, being at the forefront of innovation in oilfield technology,” comments Carly Sugden, Finance Director for AnTech.
Commenting on the importance of International Trade, Carly adds:
“As a UK business operating in a highly specialised global industry, exporting is crucial to us. For both our products and drilling services, selling to different countries and regions helps us improve and foster new product development offerings as new markets bring new technical or commercial challenges.
Having a global export reach allows us to be more economically resilient against oil price volatility and regional recessions because if our domestic economy weakens, there are still opportunities to diversify and grow in markets elsewhere.”
Now in its 55th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
Applications for Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2022 open on the 1st May 2021. For more information, visit https://www.gov.uk/queens-awards-for-enterprise.
