The Rig-Casing Monitor (RIGVM) is a sensitive AC/DC voltmeter that monitors stray voltage between a rig and the casing. This is particularly important where explosives are in use. By using an ordinary Digital Multimeter, it is possible to measure what percentage of the observed voltage is AC and which is DC, trace the source of any stray voltage, | and eliminate it. The voltage readings are then displayed on the front panel connectors of the RIGVM for analysis. Since voltage levels higher than 0.25V are considered to be potentially hazardous, the RIGVM measures 0 to 3V DCF DC and 0 to 3V rms AC. The RIGVM is portable, rugged and weatherproof to withstand all conditions. |
